I've moved to Wordpress.com!

I've decided to move PsionMark to Wordpress.com from Media Temple.

Why? Well, one of the main reasons is that I want to preserve all my MT GPU's and bandwidth for my main, rather busy blog. Additionally, it's nice to not have to worry about upgrades etc.

I don't run any advertising here, so that's not an issue for me.

I'll be doing a domain mapping soon so everyone should get pointed here shortly.

The move was much less painful than I imagined. I simply did an export from my hosted site, then imported it here. It took about an hour to process all the post, comments and images, but I could carry on modifying the blog whilst it was doing so.

I'll report back after the domain mapping.

Update: Sorry about the broken graphics - I'm hoping this is just a transition problem during the domain mapping.

Update 2: Graphics should all be okay now. Let me know if you spot a duff one.

Wow, to move a domain from one in which you have control over adding whatever you want to it (plugins, etc.) to one in which you have virtually no control is a move I would never recommend making. But you've gone and done it, so I wish you well with it.

PsionMark is a pretty "thin" blog. I don't use a tremendous number of plugins, widgets etc and I don't run any advertising on it. It therefore made sense for me to move it. Wordpress can now look after upgrades etc and I can just blog away when I feel like it without having to worry about it. It also takes a little of the load off the server.

I won't be moving my primary blog off the self-hosted platform - it's way too modified to ever run on Wordpress.com!
