Friend Connect Gets A Social Bar

I've posted about Google's Friend Connect previously. I liked the features, but I didn't like the amount of real estate they took up, so had removed them.

I guess Google had the same thought, as they've now released their Social Bar, which adds many of the features of their Widgets to either the top or bottom of your site. I like it. A lot.

One thing I have noticed, though, is that it sits over the top of the content, so you're going to have to provide some space in your header or footer so it doesn't get hidden under the bar.

I think a lot more people will now start using it. Sidebar space is at a premium on most blogs and this appears to be an ideal solution.
